I think the store turned out great. The color of mortar and brick is a regional thing, based on the available local materials. I personally would like to see more of an orange tint to both the mortar and the brick because that's what we get in the Sierra. But the grey mortar to me is much more typical of an "east of the Rockies and away from the rivers" building, otherwise there would be more brown/red sand in the mortar.
Likewise, we'd be using a grey granite for the stone sills and caps, where Mattias is using earthtones for sandstone.
