002 Constructing Barrier Strips
Image information
Description
Photo 2: 002 Constructing Barrier Strips
With a “Sharpie” I marked the center where I want my “solder” connection spot [the center of 4 holes]. Then I skipped a hole and marked the next the center of 4 holes and so on.
I weaved a bare solid tinned wire, 24 AWG, starting from the middle, like rug-hooking. See strip marked “1”. The reason that I started from the middle was to save the tin coating of the wire. Pulling the wire through the holes, the tin coating will be reduced. If you start at one end and reached the other end the tinned wire is now a copper wire, if the wire has not broken in the mean time. The “copper” wire makes soldering a little harder.
When finished weaving the top view will look like: “2” and the bottom like: “3”.
With a small side cutter I cut the wire on the underside between each group of 4 holes twice [“Sharpie” mark]. After that was done I bend the small stubs to the cross wire if each group. When finished the bottom like: “4”.
