Chris: My first layout

Hi Rowan.
Long time no talk. Partly because I have been into other things since beginning of December.

The turntable is by Märklin. I bought it as a defective item (one of the contacts was broken). Sadly, it is u/s now due to getting ballast into the mechanism.

Märklin no longer make them but will, apparently, repair defective ones. The cost over £300 (c. USD450) at the alst count so no surprise that they are no longer on the market.

I will start posting again when I start working on the layout again. There is still quite a lot of minor things to do and one major (rebuild of right hand end of hidden sidings). Also longer term plans to replace the control panel.
