Hey Jim, I received Elements 4 with my scanner. I find it anti-intuitive and clunky but I have done some nice things with it after a lot of blood sweat and tears. It could be I just need to spend more time working with it. I can't believe their out with "7" already, I hope it's better 4. Tim

Tim, From what I can gather, the major step was the Elements 6 edition. Major bugs and easier to deal with. I got a great deal on 7 so I figured I would give it a try. Trouble is there is not Manual. I'm thinking about ordering Photoshop 7 For Dummies. Cheers, Jim CCRR:woohoo:

Hey Jim,

I took graphic arts in college and I thought I would play with one of your other southern division photos.

What I did to make the "steam" is use an airbrush with white on a new layer. Then I duplicated the picture and added a motion blur to just the train. (this could be done a lot cleaner but I need to get to work soon) I then created another layer and just used a noise filter "looks like static" and turned the opacity down to like 7% to make all the elements look like they are on the same page. This was done in about 5 minutes just to show you how some of the layer functions work.

I guess I don't need photo shop. For some reason...a lot of my pictures come out blurry with fuzz in them without it. LOL. bh
