Oh, and while I'm dreaming, how about either 2' or 3' sections of flex track from MTL and maybe some nice #8 turnouts to match the flex?

Roadbed track with 440mm radius and one either just above or just below for double track main on larger radii. Number 8 switches would be nice. A better piece of track for connecting your power to the Road Bed track. A road crossing and rerailer combo and set up so it can be adapted to a dual track main with 25mm spacing.

A challenger with both sets of drivers powered, and a Hudson all with lots of weight and traction tires.

This is just a question about a detail I'm wondering about ever since I came in contact with the Z-scale sectional track dimensions, and your messages only triggered my curiosity again...

I don't really understand why you mention a 440mm radii track section for the MTL track system, and why the 490mm section should be a start for anything new from MTL regarding the track system.

If you continue the existing radii from 145mm (still and probably for along time without a loss to the community only from Märklin), 195mm to 220mm you will never get a 440mm radi. The nearest thing would be a 445mm radii section, which would be as good as a 440mm, just staying in the 25mm grid.

I would love to see some bigger radii available in sectional track for Z. Especially as I still believe it isn't possible to make a roadbed flex track (unfortunately...). At least until proven otherwise...

About the 490mm curve for the turn outs I'm wondering if it wasn't possible to create a radii/degree combination that would have all. 495mm would have been a perfect choice it seems, but could it be the answer for it? A radii that fits into the 25mm grid, a turn out degree (currently 13°, which also doesn't add up to 360° for a full circle...) that still can be done in the 110mm length of the standard straight length and when connecting two turnouts still have the 25mm distance between the straight lines. Seems to be a mathematical problem at hand here...

But then I will go with what's available, wishing for a more sections for the MTL track system. And I want a challenger...
problem is I will have to do another challenge before that can happen: convince my financial in-house adviser to release the funds...

And to the address of any manufacturer who will step in I want passenger cars for my new loco: the 88632 DSB Noab .

Thats true Loren but it is not designed for making a full loop of track it is designed for running parallel out their switch. I was looking for a radii pair that would fit inside 3 ft width of layout.

Since I am into Swiss for my home layout, I would like to know the delivery date and price for the SZL SBB Commuter trains. Bob A showed it to me at the NMRA convention in Anaheim last year. I also saw a OBB RailJet train set in Trainini magazine, but with the Euro USD exchange rate, the 7 car set + engine is around $1,900 USD, WOW.
I'll be running Swiss trains at Del Mar next Saturday on the Zo Cal layout. Of course the weatherman on TV is saying that rain ie expected most of this week in Sunny So Cal and with the way people drive the freeways even in wet weather, I may be a no show.

Wishes can come true.

It sounds like we will see the long awaited RBD560 soon. SZL is also putting into the pipeline a number of other Swiss/European projects. These will be outstanding trains. Sorry but I can't provide more details at this time.

Senator.... will we ever see that? Still waiting here as well.

I wish that the Z scale continues to grow. I also hope Marklin emerges through it bankruptcy and we see the Z scale offerings increase.

I'd settle for the E units MTL has promised after the SD40. Maybe something to power a Hallmark PA would be nice.

A different caboose with paint to match all the GP's & SD's MTL has released so far.
