HUET switchers

I'm sorry but the delays for the switchers are always very long : about one year.

I'm curious, how long does it take you to build just one of these switchers from start to finish? I don't mean how far you're behind in orders, just what the actual build time is.

It takes 5 days :
1,5 day to soldier all the pieces.
1 day to clean, prepare for painting, make painting and finishing (decals and all the small painted details)
1 day for varnish and complete dry
1,5 day for mechanical and motor + test of running

Have you thought of creating kits instead, so that people could assemble them on their own?

Would that be a solution to ease your pain?

I think that it's absolutely impossible to make these locos in kits. I have always sent my locos "ready to run" ("O" scale, "HO" scale and now "Z" scale). It's the same for the cabooses : only "ready to run", no kits, never.

I think nothing is impossible, but when you offer a kit people expecting an instruction. And THAT'S the hardest bit in my opinion

The "instructions" are not a problem for me. I have produced more than 100 models in kits in "O" and "HO" scale and I'm very good for the instructions (it's what my clients says to me ...). The problem is on the design of the model : it has not be drawn to be built by an other person than me. They need some special tools made specialy for each model.
