Outstanding!

It seems 2013 is really going to be an AZL year.

Now... with the release of these baggage cars in road-names that haven't yet showed up in your other AZL announcements... Are we to expect to see these same road-names for the other Pullmans?

As far as baggage cars go, and I could be dead wrong on this so correct me please if I am, one could perhaps see a Rio Grande baggage car on a Burlington train rolling into, say Chicago. Depending on the years, and the agreements, baggage/mail cars could be found mixed with other trains. I am just thinking out loud here...

Not really pleased with the dealer exclusive releases... as one of them is a total @$$hat. I don't understand why anyone buys from him.

Now sure about baggage cars, I don't recall seeing any images of mixed baggage or RPO. For the western roads, I have seen PRR & NYC sleepers mixed in with the roads' rolling stock.

Wired exceptions to every rule. I am still thinking i have seen different RPO and Railroad Express Agency cars on different trains. Im mixing apples and oranges and pineapples. If folks are doing early Amtrack I think anything will go.

Thanks for reminding me about the Flyer. I hadn't thought about it in some time since until a few weeks ago we didn't have the hardware in Z to do it. I know in that era the WP was doing lend-lease to have enough passenger cars so anything was possible. And while I can't look at my references until I get home, my thought is that the "assigned cars" were like the baggage cars in your link, with the road name with the car number and a common train name. Of course the Pullman were all "Pullman"
I'm still reluctant to think about RPOs on different roads. I've been in a couple and there is considerable customization of pigeon holes, sack locations and and sorting stations to match the route they were running on. Plus they ran to Post Office rules.
Also, a relative worked an RPO between KC MO and Denver. He always spoke of "his car" as if he alway supervised the same car.
