Happy Fathers Day to all of the Dad's out there!
Every fathers day, I have a tradition where my three girls spend the afternoon with me in the layout room. We work on projects together. It may be scenicing, or building kits. One year we weathered buildings, another year, we created grape vineyards for a hill side. It is always a lot of fun and it wonderful to have the kids handiwork on the layout. Of course, we are running trains. Each of the girls has their own locos and cars that make laps through out the afternoon.
And yes Nutter fans... he is right there helping if we want it or not.

Rob, Happy Father's Day to you and I hope you enjoyed your day with your girls.
Karin, I am terribly sorry for your loss. I would like to extend my sincere condolences to you and your family.
Today, my wife and I spent some quiet time at my wife's father's graveside. It was a beautiful sunny day with a slight cool breeze, he lays under a shade tree. Later we visited my dad at the hospital. Two months ago he was diagnosed with bladder cancer. This past Monday my dad had major surgery removing more than the bladder. It was good to see him getting his color back, and finally being put on solid foods. It was great seeing the staff give back the gruff he was giving them. My wife and I took my mom out for a lunch to give her a break, she has been there every day. Late afternoon we met three of the four kids for dinner at one of my favorite restaurants. I thought I was fortunate, I had a great Father's Day.
