I do not know what is happening but response time on ZCS has deteriorated substantially in the last week or so. I click and wait then wait some more and I am on DSL high speed but it is acting like a dial up connection. The site shows only 9 connections active 7 guests and 2 members.

Yup......my electricity is slow today too. I've noticed the same lag time of late.
Darn electrons......they're getting lazy !!

Matt, just do as I do.....I put a knot in the power cord which chokes off half the electricity and they run just fine...

Actually you should have noticed a slow down for the last week. Stony and I have been working like crazy on little and huge changes before we migrate Z Central to a different hosting company. We have been testing out new ideas... oh for example check out the new link under the "Gallery" tab labeled "Test Galleria". I hope it looks good and serves the purpose of not bouncing around looking for photos. And just lower in the same page is a Tree View of all the galleries to navigate to your favorite folder of photos.
And behind the scenes I have been updating and upgrading different modules and plug-ins, before we migrate to a new server. Most of everything is going smooth, but with any upgrades usually the vendor ads many new options for their application and more stuff needs to be understood and applied. And then of course I had a module upgrade that was/is giving some fits so Stony and I are up to our elbows.
One more note, I am hoping early next week to migrate ZCS... And this could mean some down time for members in the span of possibly 24 hours, and to the extreme of 48 hours of no connection to ZCS. Once I get the migration schedule, I will pass it on.
Thank you for your patience. John K.

I love the new gallery features........top notch.
But I still have slow electrons on this end and I know they will be that way until you pay your power bill,.........uh, I mean get everything moved over to the new server.
You guys are doing a great job and ZCS will soon be the absolute cat's pajamas!!
Way to go guys.

It has been since the third of October since our switch to a our new hosting company. And literally our first two weeks with our new digs were spent on security, file cleanup, and general data file maintenance.
Our current projects include photo gallery issues, Community Menu streamlining, and My ZCS Menu streamlining. Earlier today I purchased an upgrade to My Blog from version 2.0.1 to the newest version 3.0.332. This new version fixes several security issues and adds some enhancements. And this module also integrates with your user profile, user login, and several other modules. And this work did cause some of the delays during the install process.
My original update/upgrade projections was originally set for two months, before going into service mode. My goal was to have all updates/upgrades completed by the end of November. And in the same two month projections I also accounted for most of the planned enhancements.
I am really happy to say, that we are ahead of schedule and over the 'hump' of the major updates/upgrades. We have just a few more major modules to install, and then some finalization.
Again, thank you for your patience and understanding. John

My wife Karin is often in communication with these two fellows who are working long hours and experiencing 'trying times' as they fine tune this site.
Karin shares with me a bit of the discussions that they have and believe me, these two guys are spending many long hours in their efforts to make this ZCS the best it can be.
It's kind of like the former army slogan...."be all you can be". Anyone familiar with the military, especially the army, knows that in order to 'be all you can be', it takes tremendous time, energy, perseverance, and dedication to become just that.
John and Stony are really putting forth the effort in order to make this site 'sing' like no other. Growing pains if you want to call it that....or maybe call it labor pains. Just before the birth there are some very uncomfortable labor pains and the clock drags on and on and one wonders, 'will this ever be over?'
An astronaut would say...."come on, let's light this candle"
"All in due time my dear Watson" quoted by Sherlock Holmes.
We Z scalers are known for 'wanting it now' and I'm no different. How many times have we 'wanted it now' when it came to new products from MTL and AZL? We're an impatient lot and perhaps that is partly what makes us Z scalers a bit unique. Well, at least a bit quirky perhaps.....
I'm confident that by and by, this site will 'smoke' like no other site and we will all owe John and Stony a debt of gratitude for their untiring efforts. We will be able to cruise this site with ease and speed and come to enjoy the camaraderie even better that this site affords those who choose to model in the scale that really challenges folks to...

Loren... Is this your subtle way of telling the group that you are pregnant?
Congradulations to you and Karin!

Pregnant? well I do have a lot of thoughts and plans in the oven so to speak. If that counts, then I'm very pregnant. Not sure what trimester I'm in, but the pains are getting worse.
Quick, someone hand me a rail joiner before I pass out.

For the speed, there are not 25 solutions.
Or, quick provider, or, keep it small.
Very good thing to reduce number of pictures
on the main page.
But, also, yes this map down is nice, but every
flashplayer device sucks horrible resources,
for that should be better to just put link to
slow devices. You are on the right way.

and for me it is now more speed. So
there seems to be a nail in the foot.
