Passenger Car Recall

February 24, 2011
Ztrack, Dublin, Ohio

Tenshodo of Japan has issued a recall of all of their Z scale passenger cars. The recall affects products: 83001, 83002, 83003, 83004, 83005, 83006, 83007, 83008, 83009, 83010, 83011, 83012, 83013, 83014, 83015, 83016, 83017, 83018, 83019 and 83020.

Tenshodo has identified a substrate component the can cause these cars to overheat and possibly ignite. It is imperative that customers cease use of these cars immediately and return them to the authorized Tenshodo reseller they purchased from. Tenshodo will be offering replacements for these cars. The replacements are due to arrive in one to two months.

Ztrack can only accept returns of cars purchased from Ztrack.
We cannot accept returns on cars purchased through other dealers.

Customers who bought their Tenshodo passenger cars through Ztrack and Ztrack Center should return their cars to:

Update - 4/25/11

Today we have received a shipment of the updated Teshodo passenger cars. The cars received are direct replacement for those cars that have been returned to us from customers. We still have not received all cars back from those who purchased from us. We do encourage you to return your first run cars for replacements. Tomorrow morning, will begin shipping the new cars back to our customers.

We also have a large number of back orders for passengers that we are waiting to fill. Tenshodo has advised us that they should be able to start filling backorders in June. We do have a small inventory of the new passenger cars, but not enough to fill the outstanding orders.

Thank you for your patience as we work with Tenshodo to resolve this situation.
