What to use to remove MTL paint of GP9 for repaint was created by easycap
Hi: I have a MTL GP9, that I would like to repaint. Any suggestions as to what I should use to remove the paint from the shell without damaging the shell.
Thanks.
Thanks.

First of all. Welcome to Z Central Station. I use Scalecoat II Wash Away, I have repainted countless boxcars and half dozen GP9/35's. There is no problem using the stuff on plastic. The tricky part of the Geep's is not bending up the railings badly as you remove them from the shells.
Some of the tools that I use with Wash Away are old toothbrushes, toothpicks, and Q-tips.

I use 90% alcohol and soak it for half a hour. Then brush it off with your wife's toothbrush. I dont know why, it always works better when I use my wife's toothbrush.
