I think it is time that a thread be started on Alvaro's grand project of making an early era three level autorack.

Tim,

I couldn't agree more... Alvaro's work is very impressive. Between his autos and this Autorack I'd really like to see his pieces more readily available for sale. I think we're fortunate to have a handful of modelers in Z doing this caliber of work. I also think the really good modeling in Z tends to get lost / overlooked at times.

Correct. The focus from the actual models moved to staged photos. A few "spin masters" were able to make quality modeling less interesting than cheap photo-ops. Thankfully Alvaro still has the courage to make great models.

It's a magnificent model. I'm very much looking forward to owning one, even though I can't run it on the layout--it's going on a shelf to admire.

Hello everyone!
Thanks for the kind words.
In my life I've never thought of producing lot of models cars in resin, first i started as a hobby and maybe because i was not satisfy with the models available in the market, why not to start to build my own ones, and i must confess that this was Tim who teach me how to work with resin and cast more models of my cars, thanks for everything!!!:)
About the auto-racks, i must confess that this was not an easy stuff to build, maybe because of the costs of production of an etching models, we can not make errors with the drawing, because if you make a mistake, you have to start from zero again!
Maybe that's why it's takes so long time to start to deliver the first models.
When you have the photo etched sheet it's very good, but after you have to mount it and see if everything fits well and the more difficult is: Does this auto-racks goes well on the track? I must say that the first undercarriage that i cast in resin were not good, the auto-rack didn't passed well in the curves and worst when there was loaded with 12 or 14 of my heavy all resin cars.
After building 3 times the undercarriage i finally manage to have a good stability on the tracks without and with load on the auto-rack.
Finally, I must confess that is very pleasant to see my auto-racks behind my MTL GP35 running in my little layout...
I hope that everyone who purchase my auto-rack will feel the same pleasure and satisfaction that i feel.
I apologize everyone for all the delays that i have, but my new born baby girl gives me and my wife lot of work, and this not easy to find time to dedicate to the Z models.
All i can say is that i am working in more 4 or 5 new models cars to include in my new brochure, so, please be patient.
I want to thanks everyone at Z CentralStation and Trainboard and every Z enthusiat for the help and support, i found here really good friends, Z scale brokes lot of frontiers(borders). That's really amazing!!!
Thanks, merci, obrigado, gracias, danke, grazie, etc, etc...
Long live to Z scale!!!
PS: Sorry for my english, not perfect.:P

Alvaro,

"Thank you" I'm sure, from all the folks who have purchased your fine models.

There is absolutely no need to apologize to anyone for anything concerning your models.

By now, I believe most if not all Z scalers recognize the trials and frustrations in seeing a new product come to completion and we certainly understand why the delays in production.

Any Z scale product worth its salt is sometimes very slow in coming into existence and your products are well worth the wait.

We are just pleased as can be that you have taken it upon yourself to first design and then produce these fine models.

Z scale is so lacking in many areas of product availability and you my friend are helping fill the vast voids that exist in this scale.

I want to encourage you to continue to offer the Z community the results of your tremendous talent and expertise.

Keep up the good work and rest assured that we collectively stand behind you and thank you for your contribution to this hobby.

Thank you from all of us who can't do what you do so well.

All the best from the Z gang,

Loren and entire community of Z scalers.
