Now Brad,
You know Z scalers don't hide in bushes...maybe bags of ground foam, but never bushes.

I think you will find most of them in the back yard this time of year mumbling something like......"darn spring weather anyway,.......have to weed, mow, general clean up when I could be in the shop doing important things".......

LOL! Yeah, those Z bushes are pretty small to be hiding in or to be beating :P
Come to think of it those bags of foam are pretty small too :side:

Loren,

I hope you have a great turn out :) Keep up the good work!

Bev, There's a line in the Clint Eastwood movie, "Good, Bad, and the Ugly" that says it all........"If you're going to shoot----shoot, don't talk about it"

So, don't talk about a good turnout, sign up and comne on down. We'll show you a great time and you'll learn a lot and have lots of fun.

We have folks coming from Germany, Norway, and other exotic places.

Bev, you could be one of the honored Z ambassadors from Canada along with Garth Hamilton and maybe others.

Be here or be without.......B)

Loren,

Wish I could come to the train show and travel the Oregon coast. What a lovely time of year to do it :) But I haven't traveled in many years due to a chronic health condition. Maybe I could be an honoured Canadian Z ambassador in absentia :)

Bev,

I'm sorry to hear that your health prevents you from not only attending the convention but also from seeing the lovely Oregon coast. There is so much to see on the Oregon coast.

I'm showing Karin some of the sites this summer for our 'few' days when we can steal away.

Ok, you will be the 'Official Honored Canadian Female Z Ambassador in Absentia'

........but you still get the same pay as the rest of us poor guys:laugh:

Loren,

There are so many places in the world I'd like to visit, the Oregon coast is only one of them. Even though I don't travel anymore, I have the fondest memories of traveling in much simpler times - the late 70s and before. We had annual family vacations to Jasper back when firewood was plentiful and free :) As a young adult, I've been to Long Beach on Vancouver Island on the west coast, to Prince Edward Island and Cape Breton Island (part of Nova Scotia) on the east coast, as far north as Inuvik and Tuktoyaktuk (on the Beaufort Sea) and many, many places in between :) I've flown over the Grand Canyon and had layovers in sticky Atlanta on my way to Cuba - in the early days when tourism from non-Communist countries first began. At 19, I traveled from Fredericton, NB to Edmonton by train which took four days if I recall correctly. It's been a good life in the travel department, so really I can't complain now that I have restricted travel capacity.

It's totally cool to be the 'Official Honored Canadian Female Z Ambassador in Absentia' :) There are folks from all over the world on this board who could also be ambassadors from their countries - in absentia, if need be :) How cool would that be!

Well the National Z Scale Convention is getting closer to reality. I am sure many Z-scalers if not all are excited about this fantastic event. Me, I wish we could financially swing it. It would be great to see first hand of the work that I can only view via the internet. It would have been nice to put faces to names, and of course picking up interesting facts/tidbits during conversations. Meeting new people and making some friends. And of course the kid in me missing out on all of the goodies, handouts, and specials during the weekend.

So in my simple requests be safe, have fun, learn something new, and help someone with an modeling issue.

But most of all.... TAKE LOTS OF PICTURES AND VIDEOS FOR THE REST OF US!!!!!!!

Ladies and Gentlemen of "Z"

For all of you who are going to this convention please have fun and remember all of us who don't or can't attend.

Jeffrey White has been hounding me from the first day the convention was mentioned that I would be going. I regret to inform all of you that I will be in Freeport, Texas on an important job for my company. I was hoping to time this event just right where I would be off but doesn't look like it will happen. April 5th starts a 7-8 week job working 7-12's+. I need all the work my company gives me as my wife's ailments are growing as is the number of visits she has to make to doctors. How can so many things affect one person. I fear a long and intense campaign on the battlefront. Scares me like you won't believe.

Please take many photos of the entire event and post them on a website with captions of who/where/and what.

Joe D, I was hoping to meet you again and shake your hand. Our first meeting was not so memorable (for me at least, for you I was one of a thousand in the crowd). I have lots to thank you for since then. The future is still long and another chance will come my way!

Remember guyZ, Lots of Photos!!!!!!!!

Hobo Tim :)

Tim,
I sure wish more of you fine folks could make it to the convention, but I also understand how life often gets in the way all too often.

I was thinking that it would be great if somehow we could get someone to video many of the events and activities of the convention and then make it into a DVD that could be offered to folks who could not attend.

I'm working on a DVD now for the local train park, and it is costing some serious bucks, so I doubt anyone would be willing to do a first rate job of filming, editing, sound voice overs, etc. as it would take two days of film clips to compile the footage and at $60.00 an hour for a video guy to be on the job makes the cost rather prohibitive. Still the idea of a first rate DVD sure appeals to me.

We will endeavor to document the event as well as we can and have pictures to share as time goes on.

Best,
Loren

Gee, is it too early to start thinking about if, when and where there might be a 2011 National Z Scale Convention?

Often, by the time a given convention closes there is the announcement of date and place for the subsequent convention B)
