Gerd,
Theses photos are for you!
This is a type T909 Tank car in the works of me de-bugging it as I go. Photo was taken with a flash.
Same tank car except without flash. Can see detail not present in above photo.
This is the Real Thing, type T909 tank car.
This is a personal project. It is a slow Work-In-Progress. About 65% Complete. Once I work all the bugs out I will have several to build for my tank car fleet and chemical refinery. I was hoping to complete this car before showing any photos but you are correct in that I use to post photos of new stuff quite often and indeed work has taken me away from that. I hope to get back to the day when new Z was a constant thing around my house.

Gerd,
This is the first time I have showed photos of this project. It is fairly new, this week to be exact. The sheet of brass that had the SD70ACe handrails also had this brass for the type AAR T909 tank car. Finally got some tubing close to the correct diameter to make this tank car so I dabbled in it and this is as far as I have gotten. It is longer and wider than the AZL tank cars. Will definitely stand out as a different tank car!
I had some brass etched similar to the design that Kurt Lueck used to make his tank cars. That might be what you've seen in the past. I made some home etchings of that design about 3 years ago and now I have some that is professionally etched. If you want to try your hand at some tank cars just send me an email.
