GT tram Den Haag was created by andyjbj
I am building one of these to run a little loop in the center of town on our Dutch city module. I think it will be incredible. I am using a severely incorrect chassis but that I guess is OK, the chassis is not visible here.
Two dilemnas, though....how do I make the articulations, and how do I make the doors open when I cut the power off, then close again when I turn the power back on?

It's....coming along! I think. I won't be making the doors open, I still have no clue how to make the articulations. At this point I feel fairly determined to make middle and rear trucks from styrene including wheels. No idea, though, how to properly make them swivel etc. All guidance is appreciated!
thanks...

Ok I hope this helps. There is Z Faltenblage made out of latex that is for the Tee, ICE, VT04, and D-Zug wagons, made out of really thin latex.Costs 12,90 Euro and is from the 'Ideen" magazine from Germany. Their email top order is This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and they are on internet at www.bahnmagazine.de

I met the folks there at Koeln and they were very nice. I got a Z bus from them for 10 Euros and they gave me a copy of their magazine. Lots of cool Z stuff for sale with them!

Its that accordion looking thing between the wagons I cant think of english word for it. Was that the articulations you were talking about? They are on articulated buses and trams here in Germany. The ones they sell are latex so I don't know what kind of life they will have.

ah I see, in English I think a diaphragm. Cool. The issue with this thing, though, is that the articulations are not diaphragms but rigid panels.

It's articulated, up and running!
I finished the rough work of the GTL tram shell, installed a wheelset each in the middle and rear segments, and devised a system of simple, permanent couplers that seems to work. I even managed to run the contraption around its designated loop on the city layout a few times. Awesome. There is still some work to do...I put the doors on the wrong side on the center segment, and the articulation of the first and second segments still leaves a gap. Things to fix next week.

Hi

Maybe you know this already, but there's a small German maker who produces trams. They're all German prototypes, but maybe you could "kitbash" one. They're also rather pricey

I'm not familiar with them, only with HO ones. Please let me know.

Here's the url for the US dealer:

www.aspenmodel.com/

Take a deep breath before you look at the prices.

They also sell Z scale track, turnouts and other bits and pieces. I might have a simple tram line on my layout, at some time in the future.
