fiberglass/polyester resin

Anyone work with polyester/fiberglass sheets/ resin??? Could someone give me a quick and dirty how to? How much reinforcement do I need and how thin can I make a shell, and can I just keep adding onto it like say, paper mache?

It really depends on what the "shell" is going to be used for. Something like a kayak can be made from just a couple of layers (say roving/mat/roving), then using more in stress areas. It's actually pretty easy (if not a bit messy) once you get the hang of it.
