A quick update:

The roof and sidewalls are now all one peice.. the floor is a separate peice.

I'm looking for comments/suggestions about the underside detailing.. and advice on where to position the bolsters.

Stony,
Check out ExactRail's TRINCool 64' Reefer
www.exactrail.com/trinity-trincool-64-reefer-phase-l-armn
and
www.pwrs.ca/announcements/view.php?ID=4474
If you get a chance and they have one at your local hobby shop, check it out. And bring a camera (or SmartPhone) and a scale.
It's a whole lot easier to check out the under-car detailing from one of these, than crawling under the prototype.
I hope this helps because I'm really looking forward to a bunch of these reefers on my layout.
Thanks,
Bill Mock

Stony-- Up front I will admidt that I don't know what I'm Talking about--but---
I would think the bolsters should be the same distance in from each end. May be my perspective but the one on left looks shorter then on the Starboard. :S -- also to get correct position, can't you measure a similar Z model flat car to get right location. Again--consider the source of this Tome.

I tweaked the position of the bolsters in the picture above. They're now 4.6 feet from the ends of the main body.. same as the MTL 50' boxcars.

Also.. the MTL boxcars use body mount couplers.
