Canyons was created by Mr. White
Any good advice on how to make the "start of a canyon" like its mouth or whatever you would call it.

Kind of what im talking about, but I want to start a canyon in the middle of my layout. I just need to find a way to make it look natural, then I am going to run it off the edge of the boards like your picture. Im thinking of taking a split in a rock formation then having it open up into a wider canyon feature.

Zac, Remember, what you consider a canyon on this small of a layout may be a hole to someone else. Also, these canyons are usually filled with some water depending on your local. Personally a small lake or pond may be the answer. Other than that most would simply start a stream at one side of the layout and run it out another side. Something to think about. Did you check out in the Gallery: the Original CCRR? Same basic size and it may answer you question. Cheers, Jim CCRR:)

Maybe gulch or arroyo is a better description of what i'm doing. Its going to be in a rock formation and then continue through the center of the layout. I did some phot research and think I have a good feel of what its going to look like now
The pictures of the old CCRR helped too.
Thanks
Zac
