marklin kits on microtrains oval? was created by thomashjr
New to Z and don't want to make costly error with initial purchase. These marklin kits widely seen on ebay with an engine and four cars...will those run OK on the microtrains starter oval? 909 40 101 I think is the number of it. Some of these marklin kits are 8165, 8119, 8106, 8141, 8117, 8104. None of these appear to be elongated cars so hoping the radius value of the mircrotrains track will not cause derailing. I have asked the sellers this question and they have no answers. Thank you.

Hello again, Thomas. The short answer is "yes". Both Micro Trains and Marklin trains will run on the Micro Trains oval. Please be careful and only use a Z Scale approved power supply/controller as some of the older locomotives won't tolerate more than 8 volts. You can run Marklin and Micro Trains cars together if you buy or make a transition car. You can make a transition car by buying a Micro Trains truck with a Marklin coupler like this www.zscalemonster.com/mt/truck/956m.jpg Just remove the Micro Trains truck with the coupler and replace it with the Micro Trains truck with the Marklin coupler.
