Matchless Mine Big Box Kit was created by Alaska Railroader
This kit was introduced at the National Z Scale Convention this past weekend in Denver. Every single kit was sold so we need to make a few more sets now that we're home. It was designed after a famous old mine that still partially exists today in Colorado.
The kit includes:

The Steam Winch House
The Ore House
The Tabor Cabin
The intricate Minehead
Resin track
and 2 resin Ore Cars

Each building has 3D corrugated roofing and for the first time that we know of the buildings were designed and laser etched to look like distressed wood.

look for it soon from your favorite dealer or on our website.

I distress my balsa by dragging a wire brush with the grain before staining. Most times I do a whole sheet before cutting out pieces as needed. With balsa it requires a light touch.

NEW! Matchless Mine Big Box Kit

Horace Tabor made (and subsequently lost) a fortune during Leadville, Colorado's boom days, becoming one of the most famous of the Colorado Silver Kings. Sometime after making a small fortune on the Little Pittsburgh Mine, Tabor bought the Matchless Mine, which became one of the most profitable silver mines of its day. Stonebridge Models presents the Matchless Mine in all its glory, including the steam winch house, the ore house, the Tabor Cabin, the intricate minehead, cast and painted resin track, and two finished resin ore cars made by NZT Products. Each building has 3-D corrugated roofing and, for the first time that we are aware in Z scale, the buildings are designed and laser-etched to look like distressed wood. Kit is unfinished and unassembled.

This is going to be a great kit. Things like this kit are long overdue in Z Scale. This will open up greater opportunities to use those Z Moguls that I never see in photos! Good job. Jim
