Stonebridge Models Schoolhouse Bash Contest was created by soccrdad30
You can almost hear the school bell ring from the belfry. And picture the school marm stoking the wood stove on a chilly morning since she already has the class assignments written on the blackboard behind her desk. Within moments the tiny empty pine desks will seat the town's boys and girls anxious to learn the three R's. This schoolhouse kit resembles Americana.
Z Central Station proudly presents The Stonebridge Models Schoolhouse Bash Contest! The laser kits are $16.95 (srp), but for a limited time you can order them for $8.95 which includes 1st class mailing. You can order the laser kits online at www.stonebridgemodels.com or by contacting Karin or Loren. The schoolhouse kits include a Stonysmith bell. This contest ends on Sunday March 27th at 12:00pm PST. There are two categories "The Best Bash" and "Original Concept". Top category prizes from Stonebridge Models are sponsored for the contest.
Once you get your kit, you can build it to a traditional old schoolhouse style. Or get crazy slicing, cutting, and bashing to anything you want. But, you must use 90% of the pieces. In our Library I will post the kit's parts sheet. And I still need to post pics of the prizes for the contest.
Good Luck!
John

Loren, you have more important things to do, Karin told me so. Pack kits ring a bell and not talking about schoolhouse.

Poor Loren, the Rodney Dangerfield of Z. I will probably purchase two myself, one for the contest, and one for a future project. Ok, here are the two excellent laser kit prizes for the Stonebridge Models Schoolhouse Bash Contest. Each winner will have a choice of their prize. And the two prizes to select from will be.
Have Fun!

Yes, Mike. That was part of the concept for this contest.. everyone starting with exactly the same kit. That's why they were priced at only $8.95
For anyone who hasn't started their entry.. the contest ends in a few hours.. better hurry!

This is my first build and scene, well the shed to the left is the first build. I am HOOKED!! ! !
The third picture is where I layover every morning. I started trying to take pictures of the school house and one morning while I was sitting drinking coffee I realized what I had been looking at for so long!
Karin gave me great encouragement and Stony keep me going when I had doubts. . . THANK YOU both.

So, Mr Switchman.....you're hooked huh? How sad that another innocent bystander has fallen under the spell and become another Z drug addict. :o)
I have to tell you, I'm afraid that once you become an addict, there is very little hope of you ever becoming cured. You will find this drug to be most addictive and you never ease your craving.
The only good news is that you will find many fellow addicts here who can both sympathize with you and also encourage you to keep taking the drug.
After all, it does make you feel good and it is a lot of fun and you also have so many fellow addicts to relate to. Matter of fact, some of the nicest ones are on this site.
Oh, and you can't get cancer from this drug or suffer hang overs. It only impairs your thinking if you go into a well stocked Z scale hobby shop. Train shows is another area you want to visit, but be cautious as some very heavy users have been known to hang out at train shows.
The West coast is especially known for many hard core addicts. They hang together at shows and often purposefully encourage others to try the drug.
Please just accept your fate, relax and enjoy the warm fuzzy feeling each time you build something in Z, talk to other Z scalers, or purchase yet another Z product.
Oh, and I also have to warn you that this drug habit can be awfully expensive if you aren't careful and make wise choices.
As you start out, please oh please don't try every form of the drug there is as you will soon find that you have more of the drug sitting around than you can use and also some of it you will later decide that you don't want and you won't be able to sell it for what you paid for it.
So, be discretionary in your buying, don't forget you can always ask fellow addicts how they do it and you will slowly grow old with many fond memories.
I just hope that if you are a married man, that your spouse won't mind too much that you are always high after being around your drug of choice. Tell her that at least it keeps you off the street and home at nights and weekends.
I am the other half of Stonebridge Models....Karin's other half drug partner.
Loren

I knew there was a reason I bought two kits: the first one lacked what turns out to be the shingles of the bell tower, so I was scratching my head - did I mess up, or was I missing something? Turns out I was missing something. The second kit had all the parts: I confess I didn't use them all - I could not figure out how to incorporate some of them, and I bet I used one or two differently than intended - oh, well.
Any way, here's mine.

I really get a kick out of seeing all the different ways the SAME kit can be made-- each with it's builders special touch- be it colors or the way the building is used.
I should have gotten two kits, and crashed and bashed. Probably will in next order.
This is my first laser kit also ( though I have some unbuilt ). I was surprised at all the tiny pieces- for such a simple - read uncomplicated- structure. Karin did a very nice job in the design and production. The detailing of the windows are especially well done. And the instructions were quite clear and consise... woopz- there were no directions No wonder I didn't read them
