Luetke's Nursery Build was created by ztrack
Recently I wrote in Ztrack about my favorite German webcam going offline. I plan modeling the scene on my layout. I found Luetke's Nursery shop with accessories was a good match for one of the buildings in the scene. This weekend, I had a chance to work on the kit. I still have some touch up to do and add details such as the interior, but I thought I would share my progress:
I am planning an article in Ztrack on creating the scene. I do have it roughed in and already it is capturing the look of the town quite well.

Thanks for sharing Rob. How was the kit to build?

It was a lot fun. This is the 7th Luetke kit I have built. They all go together very well. The hardest part of the build in cleaning up the parts after removing them from the styrene sheet. This can take some time. I had to do quite a bit of test fitting on this build. The directions are in German. I can make them out usually pretty well, but the way the side walls work with the garage extension did take a little time to work out. The kit has accessories and I do plan on adding lighting and interior, but for now, I am happy with the results.

Does the kits have an exploded view of the building showing how the parts are assembled.

Yes, Luetke kits have diagram explaining how the parts align and placement. Also the parts are very well mark and labelled. Note though, the diagrams show a flat view, not a 3D view. This is where testing alignment and placement is key before you bring out the glue.
The precision of these kits is outstanding. Note on the top photo, the seam between the side walls and the front of the building where the third story windows meet. Tight seem right? This is not even glued! I made the kit so I can remove the roof to add interior details and lighting later. You would never guess that this junction is not glued together! Plus the roof site perfectly into the shell and sit on top of the window inserts which gives it properly alignment and a tight fit. Again, I love these kits!
So far, I have built the large brewery complex (5 separate large kits) and the wine warehouse. I have the freight shed, and numerous houses and row houses in the queue.

Rob,
I looked at the Brewery as a complelte kit. Does that grey pannel that the building set come with that kit? I also see the buildings are available seperately. Is ther a savings when purchasing the complete kit as compaired to the items seperately?

Robert,
There is a cost savings of about $50 if you buy the exclusive kit versus the individual kits. The base does not come with kit. But you won't need it. You do get the brew vats, a set of trucks (Kibri), a set of stands, the smoke stack and the much more. I think I posted this photo here before. But this shows my brewery in it's current state.
