Wonderful new site!

Brad & Jim,

Thanks for a wonderful New ZCS! Your hard work is greatly appreciated! I'm not sure it is possible to express how good it feels to have access to ZCS and the GREAT modelers that contribute to this wonderful site.

To those that are having trouble adjusting to the new site, PLEASE be patient and give it a chance. During ZCS down time I reviewed other sites to get my daily fix and found them lacking. The only site I found even close to ZCS was Trainboard and it was occupied by many of our friends here at ZCS that were making do until the New ZCS was up and running.

In the short time that the NewZCS has been available to me (I wasn't in the group to test run the site) it seems to be more responsive. Although I couldn't get onsite on Saturday (must have goofed) it has been very easy to get around on Sunday.

To all of the many new comers on NZCS WELCOME, you have found a site with a great group of wonderful modelers who will blow you away with their collective talent. Welcome and enjoy.

One note: it appears my and a few other members post counts and ranks did not cross over in the change, I'm sure this is one of many small details that will take some time to shake out.

To Jim, Brad and all of you that helped create the NZCS..............BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, after pulling more hair out I somehow stumbled across the right combination of 'to dos' and got logged in. I even managed to change my password as Jim has been trying to help me do for I don't know how long.

So, not sure how wonderful this site is yet, but will eventually come out of the fog and give it two thumbs up.

Thanks Brad and Jim for the help. Send Karin the bill, as she was too busy to try to help me. I'm gonna unplug her laser if she doesn't watch out

Nice to see you made it to the otherside. Don't feel bad when I tried to log on Saturday I got a brief view of the new site, but when I entered my new password NZCS said "invalid" and kicked me back to the old ZCS, and then the withdrawls hit. Oh so close but yet so far away! It's kind of fun tooting all the new whistles to figure out how it all works. Nice to hear from you again Loren, have a great night.

This is great day in the world of Z and want to again thank Brad & Co., to the wonderful job that they have done. Kudos!

JC, your post counts have been updated. Most members have but not all 1337. There may be a few more members who need to have thier old post counts moved over from the old site. I can do those 'on request' as required.

Where is Tim? I found his missing counts we lost last year for him?

Hi! I was finally able to log in again. There is a small glitch under opera in the site's style, that makes its content boxes slide into each other. The result is that content boxes become partially covered. (the login box only shows the username field, the forum list only show the first topic) It can be fixed on the user's side by selecting 'fit to width' in the custom view options. (this essentially overrides the site's default css formatting) The problem is present under the opera browser, both 9.52 and 9.60 versions.

The new site is great. the new picture formate looks awsom, and the blown up shots of Jurgs photos look even better than they did before!!

Bells and Whistles?

This is my first posting since the new site has emerged. I have to use AOL at the hotel and the site never loads completely. Too slow of service. Ugh!!

I have not been able to explore the entire site so I cannot comment in whole, but from what I have seen, I both like and dis-like the bells and whistles. Too many page options. Simplicity of operation has gone.

Too many point, clicks, and scrolls now. Maybe I just need a faster connection speed and time to explore the site more.

I am using a fellow employees computer with Verison wireless dial-up connection to send this. Could be a factor too, but it's 10 times faster than the AOL I have at the hotel.

Will explore more soon.

Brad & Jim,

So far I really like the photo section on the NZCS!
On the old ZCS when I would enlarge pictures in the photo section a lot of the time I would get only the top part of the photo mainly sky and tree tops, missing the good parts of the photo.
With the new site I get the full photo, maybe not as large as before but the photos fit my screen so I don't miss the details like before.

Guys this site keeps getting better. Brad and Jim (and those that I don't know about) have been solving problems about as fast as the problems rear their heads. For those having problems be patient, it will be worth the wait. The speed Brad is addressing these problems it shouldn't be long before they are worked out.

You are too modest. You said you check all of the posts, that is quite a task in its self.
Although I wasn't part of the group that got to test run the NZCS, I can imagine all of the time you guys spent on it. I am having a great time exploring all of the ins and outs of the site. I'm somewhat of a computer novice, so a lot of the tech discussions are beyond me, but are helping me learn. I hope anyone having problems will be patient, cause I feel it will be worth it.

So far what i see looks really good!!! i was kinda upset i couldn t get my reading done all last week,,,emailed loren to ask if it was just me, or could he get on. thx loren for telling me the new addy. i feel naked without my zcs readings!!! way to go. liltoot

This is a much improved GUI Brad, liking it much more as easier to read and navigate.

I like the new format. Any particular reason for the change or still tweaking? Either way, still looks good. Brad and company you still get kudos for all the work that you have done.
