Moderately involved, fairly time consuming, and it also uses up somewhat expensive space on our new hi-speed server. That makes it unlikely I will do it for all 1300 members. I also check our log files for broken picture links, there are a few, less than a dozen, so it appears to be a problem of low magnitude.

However, if there is anybody who feels like they did a fair amount of posting ZCS pictures on other boards I will gladly fix it for them on a case by case on demand basis. Just email using the magic button in my profile! Send a link or two that shows your broken photo links so I can find them quickly. Otherwise it is like finding a needle in a hay stack.

I thought so.
In which case, I am not going to bother you ;)
I am not as precious as some people are about their past postings :P and quite happy to accept that stuff on the internet is transient.
BTW I wasn't bothered about postings on other boards (after all if I wanted to posted pics on other boards/forums I should have used the facilities they provide) I was mostly concerned about our archive on ZCS.
Here an example (of many more I am sure) of the archive post that clearly doesn't make any sense anymore and might as well be deleted in it's entirety:
67.15.172.2/~zcentral/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=228&forum=20&viewmode=flat&order=ASC&start=0
BTW I am posting this link not because I am bothered about restoring it, just to explain what I am talking about.

Let me know what you think Brad, but like I said - I am easy B)

Howdy, maybe Jimor Brad can help me out, but this problem is a bit annoying.

When i enter the ZCS site each time, i have to put in my user name and password... Each time of come on to the new site, i of course click the box that says remember my info, yet every time i log in, the system does not remember me... Is this me or a bug in the system. On the old ZCS and Trainboard, once i logged in the first time and asked the system to remember my info, i was able to go in as myself with no problems..

Any help out there????

Second wierd issue. Where do i find the screen to start a new forum topic???? Can't seam to find it anywhere???

Tony, I've got the same problem... on signing in. I hope this can be tweaked once all the "dust settles".

Tony, As to posting a new topic/thread. If you look at the darker blue 'title' bar across any thread and look at the end of the darker blue bar you will see, barely, a Forum Tools button. Click it and make your choice. As for the logging in. Unless you and Fred are using different equipment than the rest of us I would suggest 'once you are in stay in'. Don't depend on the 'remember me' button. I never logout. Never. See if this works. Cheers, Jim CCRR

Jim,
I've tried it ALL different ways- and I never log out. "Remember me" and box not checked. But I most of the time have to sign back in. I'm sure the bug is at my end. Also just a suggestion, on the foto section: have an indication of how many pages in the album. some newbies might think- as well as a few oldies- that the first page is the complete album. Just trying to help and not complaining. This site takes a while to figure out. It sure is a lot Faster!!:woohoo:

Hi Brad, Chris. I now use IE7 at work, IE 6 and Mozilla at home, all work about the same. New pix pup up new window with dark background then pix with border. Pix are all about 640 size, no matter what original. Archive photos blow up to actual size and you can right-click get the url from it.

You can no longer right-click and get the new photo link. You have to use the smaller gallery thumbnail to get it if you want to cross post say to TB.

I think having the poll in the upper section will gain more of a response than having perscribers scroll down to the bottom:kiss:

Jeff, click on the little floppy disk icon and it will ask if you want to save or OPEN the original image in all its super-sized glory! You can use that "original" image file url to post to other boards!!

I do not like the current "Recent Member Z Scale Photos". It is way to slow to show the latest news and so on.

Torsja, the 200x200 might be the limit within the post. Link (BB Code) to a pix from the Gallery I then let's everyone see the larger pix (via pop up window). This appears to be the way.

Brad, I noticed in the Gallery when I click on a picture's "view full size" that it does not come up full size. I added 1280x960 pix to my gallery. Then, when I view them (IE 7), I get the pop up window, black bordered background, but the image is only about 1024x768 size (nowhere near my 1280 display width).

Jeff- If it was the same problem I had.. Don't click on picture, or Magnifying glass. Click on the download Computer icon. Three options appear-- choose picture management- and the really really big picture is displayed, and there is a slide lever to expand even bigger
