Next Z Loco - looking for opinions

Well,
I have a birthday coming up and I may treat myself and get another loco. My "fleet" currently consists of a Marklin 4-6-2 and an older 0-6-0 that I found on ebay and managed to get running. I am really looking for a reliable runner above all but would prefer a steam engine if I can find one. After digging around here and other places on the web I am considering:

1. One of the Tenshodo engines. My concerns are min radius (my current layout has 145mm radius curves) and they look a little funny. Sorry didn't mean to offend any Japanese rail fans, but I can get past the looks if they run as well as I have read. I'll just make up a back story about the train being on a "good will mission" to mend American and Japanese relations or something.

2. I've heard rumors about AZL putting out an injection molded steamer which may be ideal because their brass models are waaaaaaaayyyyyyyy out of my price range.

3. Any of the AZL or MTL engines. (GP30/GP7 etc...)

Decisions, decisions???

For steam you are probably looking at Marklin. AZL has some nice units (GS-4s, Cab forward & Challenger) but they want a minimum radius >145mm. They are working on a Mikado that should work with 145mm, but no current news on that (hope to hear something at the NZSC).
The AZL & MTL GPs will work with a 145mm. As will MTL & Marklin "F" units. I'd avoid the 6 axle diesels.
If you can wait until next week, I suspect there will be some announcemments at the Z scale convention.

for reliable operation on R145mm curves I would recommend Micro Trains GP9 or GP35 or F7. Tenshodo says on their website minimum radius is 195mm for D51 and C62. However I know the D51 runs fine on R170mm curves and it will run on R145mm also but any imperfections on the inside of the turn at track joints can pop the lead truck over the rail. If you have a Pro-z diorama A and B set the cross over in the tunnel can be problematic. The cross over can be replaced with pieces of flex track to create two main lines that are independent and then there are no problems running D51. THe A and B set are already wired for two independent lines with two plug sockets and the only thing that combined them into one was the cross over.
