Some interesting models that I own. was created by Dampflok
Someone on another forum suggested that I post some photos from my Z scale loco collection. So I have put three up on the gallery. If there is any interest, I will post a few more. Enjoy.

All the best to everyone.
Chris.

Alex, of course, unpowered brass locos from Railex, a german small series manufacturer, OOP, high priced at your most favorite shopping portal. I don't own one, but they are quiet nice.
Railex was quiet active in the 90' and early 2000s, but the last couple of years they where more than quiet. Turning up on some fairs sometimes

Oh... I know of Railex. I didn't know these examples were Railex from the photo's description. Yup... more money than I care to spend on unpowered stuff.

Hello Chris,

I'm glad that you also posted some of your pictures here. He had posted them on another form www.Marklin-users.net. They cover all scales, HO, Small and Large scales. There is some really interesting items there. You may also rum across some other familiar faces/names there also.

Yes Robert, I took the hint!

Several members have mentioned the cost. Yes, they ARE expensive but I was very lucky to get them at a reasonable price. There is a US seller who on a certain auction website who is demanding almost twice what I paid for them. In fact, in one case it is three times.

Yes, these are brass models and unpowered, so one needs a geistwagen (ghost wagon) attached to get them moving - and that can be very expensive.

One of my trains, the Ludwig II royal train, appears regularly at all the exhibitions I attend as a working model.

While these 3 locos are all Z scale, I will post a couple of pictures of interesting N scale locos as well (ow! ow!, no, please stop hitting me!!!!).

With my best wishes,
Chris.

Thanks for the photos Chris. Not my era, but nice little models anyway.

Chris, I am drooling. I have a few Railex locomotives in my collection and absolutely love them. I don't have samples of the one you posted. These are really beauties! Railex has announced the Adler set for this year. It will be interesting to see if this actually happens.

As people seem to be into Railex, I thought I would add another two (one more to go). Both these were very inexpensive (thank goodness). Neither are really my epoch but I liked the look of them.

Chris.

PS Does anyone know what the normal production run is for Railex? Or does it vary from item to item?

Well, that's all the Z scale locos (and a couple of wagons) that I own. There are, of course, still the coaches from the Saxonia train and then there are the the Marklin Hofzug sets (8769 and 8770) that were manufactured by Railex. However, many of you will be familiar with them. (I also have them in N scale but not a B VI as they sell for between £600-700.) So, unless someone requests the Saxonia coaches, that's it for now.

I am still working on my layout, wife permitting. (She has no interest in railways, model or otherwise, and considers them a waste of time and money, so I try not to bring up the subject or work on the layout bits on the kitchen table when she is around.)

All the best,
Chris.

Chris,

You have a wonderful collection and should be very proud of it. Good to know that one of our cousins across the pond is so well stocked. Bully for you.

Thanks Eric.

My last message should have read Railex locos; I have plenty more Marklin still to come later. I have just been lucky enough to acquire Marklin's Adler which was created for the Neurenberg toy fair this year. It will be a couple of weeks before it arrives and I can photograph it properly but you can see an image here (though I am not sure how long for).

Well, the Adler arrived and I have put up a new image in the Gallery (see zcentralstation.com/index.php?option=com_joomgallery&func=detail&id=2803&Itemid=80#joomimg ).

All the best,
Chris.
