Is there anybody interested in European steam outline?
The American diesels and stock all look the same to me. I can't relate to them. Typical Brit, y'see,<g>.

yes I am interested in Europeon Z steam.
Have one Märklin 0-6-0 , but I don't know if Märklin are going to be in Z much longer so I am undecided weather to pursue Z North American or Europeon.

Thanks for the reply, Jim. I can see one other Brit on the map of England and others in the members list. I've asked at ourlocal model railway club, but nobody is into Z unfortunately.
It would be nice to have someone in England to talk to, not because of the language, but because of contacts really. None of my (reasonably) near shops stock any Z and it seems that 00 is the thing here. I get most of my stuff from Ebay in Germany. It's no big deal really and I'm happy with it, but I could be even happier, that's all.
Thanks again,
Allan

Hi, Rowan,
Yes, Marklin is owned by a Brit company now. This could be good or bad though.
Much is planned and I haven't heard of any intention to discontinue Z. Do you know something I don't, sport? <g>.
Take care,
Allan

Edit
Back again, here is a post I made a while ago.

Wow; two new topics in the former Z forum in one day!
Hope I'm not overloading the electrons.
I visted the Märklin product data base this morning and will now borrow xxup's statistics hat for a moment.
Health warning. Grab a stiff drink.

I've managed to hack into the group by disabling my pc security. Yes, I am into European steam outline. Have samples from the very beginning to the last days of steam. Will stop there while I'm still winning against access problems.
All teh ebst,
Chris.

I am in UK and in London. (when) I model I model US diesels and euro Swiss modern. I too get most of my stuff from various internet sources and have used German eBay alot in the past. As for people I think you are most likely to find fellow Zers online to. There was a couple of years ago a Z only show held in conjunction with the Oxford MRC but it seems to have disappeared, unless others can prove me wrong?
Not that I am trying to steer you away from the wonderful new ZCS but you might want to check out Trainboard and the yahoo group which have a mine of information
Anyway look forward to seeing progress and got any questions then let the 'world shout back' to you.
Regards
Tom

Me too, although at this stage my interest is limited to those big beefy German tank locos. For some reason German steam locos with tenders don't appeal enough to make me want to go and buy one (or three ).Hi,
Is there anybody interested in European steam outline?

Mind you, for the really big beefy tank locos you have to go to N scale. Those BR95 Mammouts made by Arnold are something else.
All the best,
Chris.

I just received a BUSCH layout package. It includes the base mat with 3 tunnels, 2 sets of ramps and some background mountains. Now all I need to do is put it together. Keep your fingers crossed. I want to complete it and use it for a BYOZ event.

I seem to be having problems with writing to the site here. I've been out of action for a while with a knee replacement operation that went a bit wrong. I'm a lot better now, thank goodness, but it's taking its time.
I'll try what you suggest and get back to you - hopefully soon! I'll have time over the holiday.
Best wishes to you all for Christmas and the New Year.
