Info on Huet Switchers?

I guess too the flanges are the issue, nice to watch and close to prototype, but not neccesarily functional. Entering switches and a slight height difference and the wheels jump off...
Interesting mechanism, totally different to what his original design was (rear truck powered and fixed, swivel front truck not powered).
I would keep it, it's unique, metal, handmade and the price is good for such a handmade item as you know. Don't expect it to run like a MTL loco. I just would try to straighten up the stacks carefully with some pliers. They are soldered on as far as I can see so there should be some flexibility to bend them in the right spot.

looks to me like back to back on wheels is off as it appears to be squeezed coming through the points and pops over the rail. TechRep wrote:

Another observation: Marklin steam locos with similar truck arrangements have a small leaf spring to keep the truck on track, that might be a fix too.

Garth... the videos show this happening on a Rokuhan 195mm curve, not on a turn-out.

I have identified the problem :
1 / The NWSL wheels have too small flanges. I'll change the NWSL wheels by home made wheels with larger flanges and no wobble (many problems with the NWSL !).
2 / The axle is "rigid" on the pony-truck. I change to a new design which allow a real "3 point" suspension for the two extreme axles.

For informations : the "number" of the loco is given at the reservation date. There is a manufacturing number list for each range SW1 / SW9 and SW900. There is more interest for the SW1 and the SW900 than for the SW9.

This switcher looks very good, although the WP602 has wrong black stripes on the front of the long hood... Stripes should end in the middle like this: /\

Yes, there is really no place in this small engines. Fortunately, I have not too much orders for Z switchers (40 orders for the 3 models). I'm 62 years old and I cannot work on so small pieces as long as when I had 20. But I love when it's difficult. Future Z scale models : the N5 cabin cars (now in production) and a "Union Pacific" TR5 cow and calf (in 201, I hope).
