March Photo Contest was created by Socalz44

Gang, This is the official announcement of the March Photo Contest. The title is "Caboose and Bridge". So figure something out. The prize will be from Loren and Karin and some Z Points. Rules have been stated earlier, but I will repeat a couple. Moderators are not allowed to enter. No photo focusing programs please. Beyond that it is up to you. Contest begins in March after Brad sets up the art work. Like the last contest voting will be done by the moderators each with a first, second and third place vote. The membership as a whole may vote and their tally will be awarded as one vote for first, second, or third just like each moderator gets. E Pluribus Unum. Cheers, Jim CCRR:)

Ummmm, this will be tuff here in Lab City. Not sure I ever seen a caboose or a bridge here, at least not an official train bridge. BTW, does it matter who's caboose is on the bridge?

Hi Terry, If I'm reading your post correctly it seems like you might be thinking of a 'railfan' photo. This contest is for something you have modeled or photo of someone else's model. So if anyone is standing out in the cold waiting for a caboose to go over a bridge.........sorry. Cheers, Jim CCRR:)

Terry, Brad doesn't have the advertising artwork yet, probably around Mar 1st. At that time there will be a Contest album to submit photos. So don't worry about entering any photos yet. There will be a two week period in March to do that. So figure beginning Mar. 6th and a winner by the 24th or something like that. Cheers, Jim CCRR:)

Jim:

Is the rule on this contest that the picture has to be on a layout, or are modules and dioramas allowed this time?

I think last time the title was for 'best picture of your layout' and so by definition, dioramas and modules were excluded.

Jeremy, You can take a picture of a bridge and a caboose on your dining room table if you want. No restrictions as to local. Cheers, Jim CCRR:)

Friends, The March Photo Contest is now open. On the upper right on the Home Page you will see the announcement title. CLICK on Photo Gallery there. Do not try to enter the contest via the normal Photo Gallery button. You must enter in the Home Page announcement box. Rules: NO photo focusing programs; a bridge and a caboose must be prominently displayed in the photo. You may have back ground bridges or other rolling stock in the photo. (In fact I'm sure all the judges would assume there would be other rolling stock displayed); ONE photo per entrant; No whining; Judges, (Moderators), may not enter. Contest will end on March 25th. OK.....maybe I'm blind or stupid.
I click on the photo gallery for the caboose & bridge photo contest and all I get is a viewing of the 2 photos there.....no way to submit a photo. That's one way to determine who wins. :laugh:

Thom, Here is how to do it: Click on Photo Gallery on the Contest box; Click on User Panel; Click New Picture; Click Catagory, scroll down to the bottom to the March 09 Photo Contest and add your photo to that catagory. Simple? Cheers, Jim CCRR:)
