Where are the links?

Where are the links? was created by jkny
Hi Everyone,
On the old site there were links to manufacturers, stores, ebay listings, etc...

Are they here on this site and I am missing it, or are they not here?

Thanks,
Jim

Jim, The 'links' module did not make it to the New ZCS. You are the first person to ask for them since the change over. Hunting through posts is the best we can offer right now. I'll check on it. Did you check the Archives? Cheers, Jim CCRR:)

Hello Jim & Jim,

if I need a link in 99% of all cases I find it at Jens Wimmels linkpage .

If you go to Community -> Archive -> Archive Links you'll find them.

Very comprehensive no doubt, but it's all written in foreign! ;)

not really, if you take into account where Jens is living then you would say it's perfect German...;)

For me it is no problem to read his and other pages. But then I'm talking four languages:
German, English, Danish and about other people...

SCNR... ;)

But seriously, in this case I think a translation via Google would help a lot.

I tried going to the archive, but it said the account is not currently active. Thats not a problem though because americanzscale.org is pretty comprehensive.
Thanks for the replies!

The foto and forum archives are inactive also-- This seems like a big loss to ZSC.

Yes Fred, you could say that. Remember the loss was mainly due to financial reasons. Soon, with adequate representation and input from our members we will be back in business and will meet and excede the info on the old site. Cheers, Jim CCRR:)

I've read from some members that they did help here, and I did it too. But can you give a rough estimate about the "adequate" representation and input, so that I know if I was close enough?

I would help as much as I can, because I won't like to see this board to vanish just because there wasn't enough money. And yes I also understand that everybody has a different ability to join in helping.

Jim,
That would be helpful. I feel the archives were a good reference as many who contributed fotos and posts are not active anymore on ZCS. I too have made monetary contributions as have several others-- trainboard is running a marathon to raise money to maintain thier site. If we knew a ballpark figure of expenses possibly more would donate. At least bring back the foto section, and pertenent posts.

We lost over 3600 fotos-- guys like Robert Ray, Hobo Tim, Torja, Zthek, Cleantex, Ulie and even yours and mine - etc and the "Historic" value is gone. What will it take to bring this back. Can it be installed in the Current ZCS rather than a special section.
I just assumed it was a part of ZSC.:S

Fred, I think we just lost about 200 photos if my memory serves. The photos are still accessable via the Archives. Brad tried his best to get them on the new site so access would be easier but the programs just weren't set up that way. Can't fight city hall. Cheers, Jim CCRR :)

Jim,
I was refering to the 3600 in the banner at the bottom of the home page that at one time was at the top. If it will help in the finances I'll delete most of my fotos so others may post. and contribute when necessary-- still in the dark.

Ulie,
Sorry for being dense, but what does SCNR stand for?

Thanks,

You're not dense, but maybe I'm a wee bit to open in my postings. The SCNR: Sorry Could Not Resist (to make that joke) was meant for th last of the mentioned languages...

I renewed the archive account so it is back up and running. I also added a new component here on the new site called CMS TOPLINKS. Members should be able to add links. Please give it a try.
