Last section of cork
Picture information

Description:
Bending and gluing the last section of cork for the main line. When using IBL\'s double track cork I found it easiest to split it and lay the inside curve first, then the outside and use lots of pins.

Mike,

Good progress smilies/smiley.gif T pins are invaluable smilies/smiley.gif I've been working on our layout over the past two days and am getting closer to glueing the track down. It's scaring the heck out of me smilies/shocked.gif

Bev,

I not sure about the MicroTrains track but for the Marklin, each section has pin holes molded into a few ties to allow for 'nailing' the track down. I did not put a nail into each available hole but just enough to keep the track stationary. My plan is to pull the nails out as I ballast sections since all the ballast and glue will hold the sections in place.

I took the leap this morning and began glueing down the track. Am using AC glue every 4" to 5" on both edges of the parallel tracks, then holding the tracks in place with my fingers until the glue is firm. OMG! Did I just read that correctly?!? I'm glueing down track!! (Track is MTL sectional and is relatively easy to glue.)

The double tracks have been glued smilies/smiley.gif Just one more track to go, but the layout isn't quite ready for it to be done. BTW, found out AC melts blue insulation foam. Most of you here already know that, though smilies/wink.gif
